One of my favorite pregnancy products!

You guys I'm super excited to tell you about my absolute FAVORITE pregnancy product I've found. Mama Mio oil. I started off this pregnancy using Palmers oil and butter- but had to stop at around 8 weeks because the smell would literally make me gag and throw up.

Fast forward to 14-15 weeks I started using it again, this time the smell didn't bother me as much (or more like my gag reflex got better 2nd tri) but it would make me disgustingly greasy. I used it 3 times a day- and each time I used it I would have to stand there naked for 15-20 minutes before putting my clothes on so I wouldn't get the grease everywhere. No bueno. Who has time for that three times a day?

I received Mama Mio tummy oil right before Christmas and began using it religiously immediately. Needless to say I haven't touched my old palmer's stuff.

I could go on and on about this stuff, but I will tell you my 3 favorite things about it.

1. NO NASTIES- it's paraben free, petroleum free, phthalates free, sodium laureth and sodium lauryl sulphate free, colourant free synthetic fragrance free and xenoestrogen free! If you are like me you probably don't know what all those ingredients are- but TRUST me, they are not something you want to be putting on your body, especially while pregnant. So this is a HUGE HUGE plus.

2.The smell. It's amazing! It's very light and sweet- I can't put my finger on what it reminds me of, but the smell is so gentle (I'm not a huge fragrance person to begin with and during pregnancy smells Really bother me- hello I threw away my husbands deodorant just because I couldn't be near him when he had it on) that I seriously look forward to putting it on. Even Drew comments on how good it smells.

3. And this is an important one- NO GREASE! With other oils I've tried this pregnancy (bio oil, palmers, coconut oil) I can't get dressed forever- when I use the tummy oil, by the time I've finished putting on the ladies, my belly and thighs it's already soaked in and I can get dressed immediately! And for some reason though it doesn't stay greasy, it keeps my skin feeling super moisturized all day. Before my belly would start itching 4-5 hrs after applying oil so I would have to 're grease' while Jasper napped- but now I just use it once in the morning and once at night! Amazing I tell ya. And my skin have Never felt better! Like I think I want to use it even after if it's going to keep my skin this soft and smooth!

I was also sent the Mama Mio Omega Wonder-Full balm- and let me tell you, this is the best for dry skin. I've been having painful patches of dry skin on my face this pregnancy, as did Jasper in the beginning of January when we got back to Colorado- and a tiny bit of this at night would have us both waking up with no dry skin! Even Jasper loved it and asked for 'face medicine' at night before bed if I forgot. Drew has been stealing it to use on his knuckles as well when they get cracked and bloody (damn dry Colorado skin!)

After about 6 weeks of using daily I have about 1/3 of a bottle left and I know I will definitely be ordering again! 2 weeks into using it I ordered some and had it sent to my pregnant sister- she loves it too!

I was also sent Mama Mio Goodbye Stretch Mark and have been using it on my old stretch marks from after I had Jasper (no new ones this time around!!) and while I can't tell if it's going to help them fade I can tell that it's doing Something because the one stretch mark that itches from time to time (why the heck do they do that??) has definitely stopped itching!

I would, and have recommended Mama Mio products to all my pregnant friends, so if you are looking for a great product to try you should check them out!

  1. I hate Palmer's Cocoa Butter too! I didn't mind it before pregnancy but now even in my third trimester I still feel like puking when I get a whiff of it. It's the only thing that really sets me off!

  4. Okay. I need to look into this because I have tried EVERYTHING and still my stretch marks are horrendous. I just started blaming it on heredity because what else can you do?!

BUT GOSH YES. Cocoa butter made me SO sick during pregnancy.

  9. I'm amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that's both
equally educative and interesting, and without a doubt,
you've hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that too few men and women are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I came across this in my hunt for something concerning this.
