1. The most adventurous thing I've ever done is...hmm this is a tough one. I guess the most adventurous thing we have ever done as a family is pack up and move to Karlstad, Sweden last year for 6 months to study abroad just the three of us. The 6 months were filled with some many trips and adventures. Actually almost every day was some sort of an adventure- especially in the beginning when we were trying to figure out what bus to get on to get to the grocery store w/o looking like complete tourists. Some other things would be parasailing in Thailand, swimming in the lake Sr. year in high school in February (in Iowa) when the water was so cold there were ice chunks floating everywhere(this might just be considered stupid, not adventurous) and lastly following my heart and transferring to Denver University from Northern Iowa to be with Drew my freshman year of college. Looks like that turned out alright since it was 5 years ago and we are planning our October wedding.
If I were a pair of shoes I would be.. a pair of cute, heeled boots. Not too high, just the right amount of height for every day wear and enough heel to pair to be able to full of a fabulous look for a night out.
My preferred mode of digital communication..texting and e-mail. Neither of us have time to talk on the phone a lot during the day, but Drew and I send each other texts throughout the day. Email so I can keep in touch with my dad on a regular basis since he is always in a different country for work and I never remember where he is, let alone the time difference so e-mail is the best way to keep in touch- especially on my blackberry since I can respond right away when I get an e-mail and chances are he is still online and email me right back as well. And thirdly I'm going to have to say facebook since I like at least 10 hours away from the majority of my friends- and all of my family, and it's a great way to keep in touch with friends, especially the ones I have in Sweden.
I feel happiest when.... Jasper, Drew and I get to spend all day together going on one of our favorite outings, like to the farmers market, pool, sledding in the winter, apple picking in the fall etc.
A little dream I have for my life is.. having three or four kids (at least one a girl!) and hopefully living closer to family and having a summer house in Sweden. In my daydreams we spend 6 weeks there every summer and the occasional Christmas. What more could I ask for?
The one modern convenience I could NOT do without is......I'm going to have to say dishwasher. We went almost 7 months in Sweden and it was tough! It was more bearable since there were only three of us- and Drew and I took turns every night doing the days worth of dishes, but if we would have been busier with jobs and everything that would have been a lot more difficult!
Music, movies, TV or books: if I could only choose one to enjoy I would pick... books for SURE. I think if I could live at a library I would be so excited. I used to fantasize about being locked in a library when I was younger. I still think it would be SO much fun!
