Three years ago we said I do.

We had been a family long before we made it 'official', but having that special day with our families and friends (all 300ish that made it, from several countries and many states) was something I'll never forget. I'd get married a hundred times (to the same man) just to be able to spend that day with all of our loved ones.

It's been almost 9 years together, and I love him something fiercely. We haven't always had an easy 9 years, and I'm not going to gush and pretend that marriage isn't hard, because damn it is FREAKIN HARD, some days/weeks harder than others. It's work. Lots of work. But to quote the great Ben Affleck "There's no one I'd rather work with"

And, wow, Jasper looks so much like Tindra in that photo of you and him hugging! (Was he your ring bearer?)

  4. I hear ya on it being hard! i hate when couples try to act like marriage is some fairy tale and everything is perfect all the time. That's not realistic! PS are those your eye lashes or falsies? I htink i will hate you if they are yours!

  5. Congrats! You two are such a beautiful couple!

Thanks for your honesty. My husband and I just celebrated seven years of marriage earlier this week, and it has been equally wonderful and difficult all rolled into one big overwhelming combo. That Ben Affleck is so wise. :)

  6. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't think marriage should be work. It should come naturally and beautifully.

    1. Are you married? If not, perhaps reserve your judgment? And if you are married and it's not work at all, well Congrats to you! That's incredible and you are very blessed. You must both be perfect, Drew and I are Not though so to us, it can be work :) And I'm totally okay with the work! Most good things in life you have to work for.
