Holiday Lights Mini Golf

Last weekend we were invited to come check out the holiday lights at Adventure Golf and Raceway and play some mini golf, and we are So glad we did it!

I don't know why we but we haven't gone mini golfing since Tindra was barely walking, and she obviously wasn't into it then. But this time? Everyone had a blast! Tindra was suuuuuper into it, and overtime she made the ball in she would yell "YESSSSS I scored a goal!" and was so excited every single time. 

Jasper was pretty competitive about it and wanted to be sure we were writing down his score every time, and he was getting so good by the end of the 18 holes we did!

I was wearing Soren (who slept most of the time!) so honestly I wasn't thinking I'd do so good. Mini golf (of golf) isn't usually my forte anyway. Welllll apparently my problem all those years was I didn't have a 7 month old strapped to my body. Turns out I'm pretty good under those circumstances! No seriously! I even scored a hole in one! That's like Never happened to me before and I ended up beating Drew by quite a bit! And he's pretty decent at mini golf so that was a big deal to me!

The lights were really cozy, and it was the first time I felt like 'ah, christmas time is here!' From now through New Years is probably my favorite time of the year, but we have had such warm weather till this past week that it hasn't felt like it's really November. But now, I'm in the Christmas mood! I'm going to try to convince Drew to start digging out our decorations this weekend..

Thursday-Sunday nights now through the rest of the year, and every night starting December 17th Adventure Golf and Raceway is open from 5-9 for holiday lights mini golf and we Highly recommend you check it out! Both of the big kids have been asking when we can go back so we might have to squeeze it in again before the end of the year. 

Summer is Here

In my book, summer started last night when it was marked by the first happy hour bike ride of the season. My friend came over after she got off work, and off we went on our bikes! We are so lucky to live just 2 miles from Cherry Creek (my favorite neighborhood in Denver) where there are countless restaurants and shops. Many with outdoor patios which I mean

really, is The way to do happy hour.  We went two a couple different places, and spent the night sipping on wine and amaratto sours and catching up on life. Between the two of us we have a 6 year old, 3 year old, 2 year old and 3 month old, so getting together can prove difficult (plus she works full time!) so spending 4 hours catching up barely even scratched the surface!  I'm so grateful for the night out after a few rough days. Apparently a long bike ride, hours of fresh air, a good friend and a couple of cocktails are Just what I needed! Special thanks to Drew who made the effort to come home a few hours earlier than normal to give me some Me time! 

Labor day weekend

Oh man did we have a good labor day weekend! I think every weekend should be three days, dont you think? Two days just isn't enough time to fit it all in! Saturday morning I had a little newborn photography session here I got to shoot and oh my gosh if that didn't give me baby fever.. (it totally did)   And then after naps we headed to Dinosaur Ridge with friends and then had a bbq after at one of their houses (they live Super close, like less than 2 miles from red rocks- lucky!)

^After our trip to Iowa this girl LOVES her corn!^ Sunday we drove down to see a friend visiting from Sweden with her little family. We met when she was here as an au pair for two years- and then she moved back to Sweden and her boyfriend came along and now they have the cutest baby girl! So so good to see her again!

And then Monday! Oh Monday was So much fun! We went to Elitch Gardens (an amusement park/ water park) with the plan to stay as long as everyone was happy. With a 6 year old and 1 year old, that could have been 1 hour or 5 (but since it's pricey to get in we were hoping for more than an hour!)

 ^Jasper and I got 100% drenched on a water ride so we got to walk around soaked all morning.^

 ^So I had the brilliant idea that we should all go on the ferris wheel. Till we got about halfway up and I realized I'm terrified of heights. Made for a long ride back down^

 ^By the look of my face here you would have thought I was on a "real" roller coaster and not the kiddy one. But I was preeeety scared!^

^Tindra loved the marry go round and kept saying hii puppy (what she calls all animals)^ It ended up being the perfect day weather wise- a little bit hot (high 80's) but it especially the first half of the day it was perfect! And then the clouds rolled in for an hour or so and kept us shaded a bit which helped! Everyone was having such a great time (minus a few meltdowns by an exhausted Tindra who just napped once for 20 minutes) that we ended up being there from 10-5:30! I'd say we got our money's worth! And a major plus? Getting home, feeding everyone dinner and having Tindra asleep by 6:30 and Jasper by 6:45. 

Back again!

This time from out little annual mountain camping trip we do with our friends. Every year (this is our third) we do a little camping trip to Grand Lake before the kids go back to school.  Every year we have lucked out with perfect weather. 70's during the day and cold at night. Perfect for sitting around a camp fire. Last year it got a little too, like high 20's, but last night I think it only got down to 40. Totally bearable when you have warm clothes and warm snuggly sleeping bags. I did get Tindra out of her back and play when we went to bed to make sure she was warm enough so the two of us snuggled in one sleeping back. Super cozy, but not a lot of sleep for me. Between the on and off rain we had and the pack of wolves or coyotes howling not very far away my sleep was almost non existent. Early to bed tonight!  It was the perfect getaway. This year we switched it up with an hour trail ride for the mamma's and newly 6 year olds instead of the usual leading them on a horse. They got to ride solo! I must admit I was just a little nervous with Jasper on a horse by himself without me leading him, but he did fantastic! Seriously so great. And he got the ornery horse. His horse (Rootbeer) kept going off the trail to eat grass, but each time (with instructions from the guide) he was able to get the horse back to the trail. Not an easy thing to do! These are Big stubborn horses, so I was So so proud of him! I think he's a natural!  The trail ride was so much fun, and obviously beautiful since we were in the middle of Rocky Mountain National Park, but I definitely have a sore bum tonight! Worth it! On our way down to the mountain we stopped in Winter park to walk around for a little bit, and went on a little gondola ride thing. Winter Park is next on our list to spend a weekend, such a cute little town and seems like tons to do there!
