Our second full day in Stockholm we woke up to over cast and a bit chilly (high 50's, low 60's) but I love this kind of weather so it didn't bother me at all! After another delicious breakfast (okay brunch since we didn't wake up till 10:30) we took the boat into town again, this time to meet some friends. I met Nadja about 4 years ago (I think?) when she was an au pair in Denver and we would do play dates with the kiddos. Now she's back living in Stockholm with her (American) fiancé and beautiful baby girl. We made plans to meet up with them to walk around, but the weather had other plans!
As soon as we got off the boat it started pouring, and then within a minute, hailing. We took cover underneath the awning of a fancy hotel that had heated lamps and waited out the storm. 20 minutes later or so it was just sprinkling so we went and met our friends at The most amazing library I have ever been in. It's on the top floor of a big building right in the middle of the city, and a complete dream for kids. I didn't get a really good picture of the library, here's one below I found. The whole library was filled with little places for kids to climb, and get cozy with books. If I lived here I think I would want to come every rainy/snowy/crappy weather day. Not only could you sit and read/look at books everywhere, they also had an amazing craft room. I think we paid $3 for Jasper to get a tray of different items to make a craft with. He ended up making a really cool necklace. The most amazing thing was they had a bunch of used books for sale. I ended up buying like 8 different Swedish books for like $4. Amazing!

After an hour or two at the library the rain cleared up and and the sun came out, so we spent the rest of the day walking around some different, less touristy neighborhoods of Stockholm and finding a couple of different parks for the kiddos to run around.
how were they doing on jet lag at this point? how did they sleep the whole trip?
