What a week we have had.
Thursday night/Friday morning Jasper woke up and came out of his room and said he wanted some water because his tummy hurt. As I turned around to walk into the kitchen he threw up All over the carpet. It. Was. Every where. After getting him set up on his beanbag to sleep (his favorite when not feeling the best) with some gatorade and a big bowl to throw up in I spent the next 40 minutes cleaning throw up out of our beige carpet. Probably one of the things I want to do least at 2 AM. Ah motherhood.
Then when I finally fell asleep on the couch, 2 feet from Jasper, he woke up throwing up again. At least this time in the bowl! And this went on every 20 minutes on the dot till about 9AM. Poor poor kid.
The rest of the day he seemed Okay, not himself, but Okay.
Saturday was great. We went on an easter egg hunt because he seemed completely normal and hadn't thrown up in 24 hrs.
Sunday, Easter was great also! He seemed 100% like himself, up by 6 AM ready to see if the Easter bunny had come (luckily he had, at midnight) *More on Easter later!*
My mom arrived from Iowa for the week Sunday afternoon and after dinner we headed to the park. Where Jasper threw up all over the side walk. 100% out of the blue. So home we went, with an early bed time.
He woke up in the middle of the night with diarrhea and throwing up so No school for Monday or Tuesday. He continued to get sick on Monday but by Tuesday was feeling better and went to school on Wednesday.
Wednesday, Tindra threw up in her crib, just once. Which was the weirdest thing ever. And no fever like Jasper had had.
Thursday? Oh Thursday was miserable. I woke up at about 4 AM and proceeded to throw up every 20 minutes. All. Day. Like I said. Miserable. Thank GOD my mom was here to take care of us! Seriously don't know what I would have done with out her.
Then Friday it was of COURSE Drew's turn to get sick! But being the trooper he is he headed into work (he is in an office right by the door where he has his own office and bathroom to himself so he didn't have to come in contact with anyone) and he wasn't nearly as sick as Jasper and I had been.
And FINALLY we are all healthy. What a week. Pretty sure we lost 10 pounds as a family, 3 of that from Jasper who didn't have an ounce of fat on him to lose to begin with.
In between all that horrible stomach bug, we had such a great time having my mom here. That's the absolute hardest thing about living so far away from 'Home'. Being away from my mom. She is truly the greatest, most selfless woman (or person) I have ever met in my entire life, and I'm so grateful to have her.
And yes this was a totally boring and pointless post. But after being absent from blogging for a little while it's always hard for me to get back in, so random babbling it is! I'll be back tomorrow with 'regular' blogging again. Can't wait to catch up on all my favorite blogs!
Oh man, that sounds like a fun week (said very sarcastically)
ReplyDeleteSo glad for you that your mom was there to take care of you, nothing's better than having your mom close by when you feel miserable.
Glad you're all better now!
xo
There really isn't anything like having your mom take care of you when you are sick!
Deletenaturally like your web site but you need to take a look at the spelling
ReplyDeleteon several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and
I find it very troublesome to tell the reality on
the other hand I will definitely come again again.
