Steppin Out Saturday, whoa two weeks in a row??

I actually got dressed in something other than yoga pants and a tank top Saturday AND Sunday- but of course didn't take pictures. Even yesterday I totally forgot to have Drew take a picture of me all day in all the pictures we took of Jasper's Swedish Preschool graduation. So when we got home and Jasper was in bed I had him take one quickly on his phone- which of course turned out horrible. Oh wells.

As you can see I obviously wanted to have my picture taken right then.

Steppin Out Saturday

Thursday night hubbs sprung a work dinner on me that he wanted us to go to. It was with a few male coworkers of his and their wives/girlfriends. Yeah sure, we can find a sitter in 20 hours with nearest family 750 miles away and me refusing to hire someone I don't KNOW. Like personally know. Like know all their past history/boyfriend/family/account info know. Okay not really the account info, but everything else.

My friend happened to call and I told her the dilemma and she offered to give up her friday night, drive 40 min. one way and come spend the night here. Great friend huh?

So out we went. I didn't take any pictures while out because I didn't want to be That girl. Plus, we were in the company of people that are listed on wikipedia, for political reasons, and maybe wouldn't have appreciated having their picture taken feasting on a ridiculous amount of Italian food and many bottles of wine.

All in all it was a fun night, especially when the group got smaller and just a few of us headed to a karaoke bar after dinner (which by the way last almost FOUR hours!)

I made Drew take a couple of pictures before- but that man is NOT a good photographer! But oh wells here they are.

Dress: Bought in Sweden, June 2009- one of my Favorites.
Shoes: Dolce vita for Target- surprisingly quite comfy.

Steppin Out Saturday

Or Sunday for me. I was actually wearing a pretty cute outfit yesterday if I may say so myself ( and I may, it's MY blog) for park and brunch with my ladies, but totally forgot to take a picture. So I guess you will just have to take my word for it.

Today my steppin' out was extra special because I woke up to not one, but TWO new dresses picked out by my boys! I just had to wear one of them today.

Dress: Forever21
Shoes:Walking Company
Hat:Forever21

Funny story about this hat..We all went to the mall yesterday, and Drew and J wandered off on their own- then Jasper came back wearing this hat. Apparently he fell in love with it and just had to have it- and he let me borrow it today. And yes, it's a womens adult hat, that fits my 3 year old son. And I do have to admit that sadly, it looks Much better on him.

Ps I would have much rather wear wedges with this dress, but my ankle is still, after 3 weeks, at least twice the size, extremely swollen, and black and blue- so attempting anything other than flats at this point seems foolish.

Hope everyone had a Fabulous mothers day. Mine was absolutely amazing, I'll share more tomorrow. Now I'm off to enjoy dinner, made by my boys.

Steppin Out Saturday: Disney on Ice!!

Saturday Jasper and I had a day date. Or I guess it was more of a group date since two other moms ( and an aunt) joined us. Four adults and four three year olds made our way down to the Pepsi Center in Denver for Disney on Ice. It. Was. Awesome. I'm pretty sure the moms might have enjoyed it more than the kids.

Not only were our seats directly in front of the ice, we had a suite! My friend ( in the black) got the tickets from work so we got to sit in their suite. With out that I don't think our outing would have been as successful or fun. When the kids got tired of sitting they could get up and walk around a little. When they had to go to the bathroom we had to walk 10 feet behind us to our own private bathroom. When they wanted a snack, we opened the door and we were right by the concession stands. I'm now convinced sitting in a suite is the Only way to attend an event like that with three year olds.

Clearly thrilled to be sitting on my lap for 5 seconds

Jasper went and hung out with a friend (the blonde in the pic.) so we were Jasper free for the evening! He had a blast with Ella and her mom (and we watched her the night before while her parents went out for dinner with friends) so it worked out Perfectly!

Steppin Out Saturday

On Friday night we headed over to a friends house for a Christmas party. It was for the kids- but the delicious food and wine made it an adult friendly party as well. My friend had arranged it so santa was going to come by on the firetruck- come it and talk to all the kids and give them a little gift. Such a great idea!! It was much more personal than the 2 seconds with the mall santa. Jasper LOVED it.

Steppin Out Saturday

Our SOS outfits actually took place on Sunday. We spent the morning taking Jasper to his very first movie!! He is Obsessed with Harry Potter so we figured it would be a good choice for his first movie. And he was Pumped. I had already seen it last weekend so I figured when, not if, he got bored and starting being loud we could go walk around so Drew wouldn't miss any of it. Well it DIDN'T HAPPEN! This kid sat through 30 min. of preview and a 2.5 hr movie! If you knew him, and his inability to sit still for ten minutes you would realize just How huge this is! Sure three boxes of candy and a large popcorn helped, but seriously he did Amazing!!

not sure why the crazy face

So this is my first time joining in on Steppin Out Saturday. My Steppin out outfit is actually from Sunday, where our day consisted of grocery shopping, some other errand running and cleaning. Not a very exciting day! But Necessary.

I have about a billion dresses that I wear in the summer and spring and decided that I would find a way to make those fall and winter dressing instead of buying a whole bunch more(see how responsible I'm being?)  So here's my first shot at it.

I paired a Forever 21 Dress with a Cardigan I got in Sweden, shoes  from Forever 21, and knee high socks that my aunt got me in Germany a few weeks ago. It was a bit chilly out with my long German socks and shoes and cardigan this dress totally worked!!

When Jasper saw me get dressed he said "Hey look, Mamma is a Pippi" (Referring to his favorite, Pippi Longstocking..and she does sort of has shoes that look exactly like those..and crazy knee high socks too...)

On Jasper
T-shirt Old Navy
Sweater I Think Khols
Jeans TJ Max
Shoes GAP

Here we are showing off our shoes

And Now we are roaring at the camera- because if you want to take a picture of this kid you have to be doing crazy stuff or he will run and hide because he is just Not a fan of the camera.
